As if the "first time since" narrative surrounding the Chicago Cubs hadn't been beaten to death,Crime Movies | Page 2 of 2 | Adult Movies Online they just did it again.
A week after the Cubs won the World Series for the first time since 1908, the team's anthem, "Go, Cubs, Go," claimed a spot on Billboard's charts.
But this wasn't a "first time since" scenario. This was the first time ever.
Steve Goodman's 1984 tune — which plays after Cubs victories at home — took the No. 21 spot on the Pop Digital Song Sales chart and No. 49 on the Hot Digital Song Sales chart, according to Billboard. The song also debuted at No. 3 on the Hot 100's Bubbling Under chart and climbed to No. 3 on Spotify's Viral 50 list.
None of this surprising, though, considering the Cubs fever that struck Chicago and the baseball world after the franchise's long-awaited championship.

Players sang "Go, Cubs, Go" at the team's victory parade in Chicago last week, while Dexter Fowler, Anthony Rizzo and David Ross stopped by Saturday Night Live last weekend to croon the tune during Weekend Update.
Even the cast of Hamilton, which just started running in Chicago, went full Broadway on "Go, Cubs, Go" last week.
Time will tell if Cubs fever ever ends.
