Wordle#350? Where does the time go?! It seems it was just yesterday we began wondering why everyone was suddenly tweeting little yellow and green squares, and now we're nearly at a year's worth of Wordle. We'll continue to bring you daily tips, clues, and spoilers.

Wordlewas originally created by engineer Josh Wardle as a gift for his partner, but soon went mega-viral. It's now a daily habit for thousands of people, the New York Timesbought it in a seven-figure deal, TikTok creators livestream themselves playing, and fans have even created alternate Wordle versions inspired by the original. This includes battle royale format Squabble, music identification game Heardle, and variations like Dordleand Quordlethat make you guess multiple words at once.

What's the best Wordle starting word?

We have some ideas to help you select the perfect opening. A key consideration is choosing a word with at least two different vowels in it, plus a few common consonants such as T, S, or N — and if you choose one that hasn't been any day's answer yet, you might even snag the elusive one-guess win.

What happened to the Wordle archive?

While you could once play the entire archive of past puzzles, the archive was taken down at the request of the New York Times, according to the site. Boooo.

Is Wordle getting harder?

If you've been finding Wordletoo easy, there is a Hard Mode you can switch on to give yourself more of a challenge. But in general, we can assure you that Wordle isn't getting harder. 

Why are there two different Wordle answers some days?

Half the fun of Wordleis that everyone's trying to solve the exact same puzzle by finding the exact same word, no matter where you're playing from. However, occasionally the game will accept two different correct solutions on the same day. This aberration is due to changes the New York Timesmade to the original word list and order after it acquired Wordleearlier this year. Whenever this happens, we'll let you know both answers.
