Engineer Josh Wardle originally created Wordleas a gift for his partner, however it quickly grew into an international phenomenon. These include battle royale Squabble, music identification game Heardle, and variations like Dordleand Quordlethat make you guess multiple words at once. 

Wordleeven became so popular that the New York Times bought it earlier this year, and TikTok creators have live streamed themselves attempting to solve it.

Why are there two different Wordle answers some days?

Though Wordleusually only has one correct solution per day, the puzzle game will sometimes accept two different solutions as correct. This phenomenon is attributable to the New York Times, which made changes to Wordleafter acquiring it.
