A parody George R.R. Martin account tweeted back in January: "2016 was directed by me,Watch Sukeban Deka: The Movie Online" and pretty much everyone agreed.
Now, the real George R.R. Martin posted an entry on his LiveJournal blog, mourning the recent death of Carrie Fisher, and generally wanting this horrible, bad, no good year to be done with.

"She was way too young. A bright, beautiful, talented actress, and a strong, witty, outspoken woman. Princess Leia will live as long as Star Warsdoes, probably forever," the writer wrote Tuesday.
He also paid his respects to fantasy writer Richard Adams, who died on Dec. 24 at the age of 96.
"The world lost one of its great fantasists today as well: Richard Adams, the author of Watership Down. Gardner Dozois ranks Watership Downas one of the three great fantasy novels of the twentienth century, right up there with Lord of the Ringsand The Once and Future King, and I agree," he wrote.
All in all, just like most of us, Martin would really, really like to see 2016 finally step down.
"A wonderful actress, a great writer," he wrote. "The world is poorer tonight. Please, let this wretched year come to an end."
