Facebook has a new tool for people worried about apps accessing their data.
In the wake of the Cambridge Analytica scandal, vintage eroticism tube the company has quietly rolled out a tool that allows you log out, in bulk, of apps to which you've granted access to your Facebook account, as spotted by Twitter user Matt Navarra.
SEE ALSO: Forget data. Free labor is Facebook's lifebloodIf you're worried about Facebook accessing your data, open the Facebook app (if you still have it) and go to Settings > Apps > Logged in with Facebook. At that point, you'll see a long list of apps you're logged into with your Facebook. You can select each app from the list that you want to log out of, and then click "remove."
I found that I was logged into over 200 apps that I'd never even heard of, let alone remembered logged myself into. I removed all of them, including several iterations of Farmville, and it was just about the most satisfying thing I've done this week. RIP.
By the way, did you know that you're still logged into every stupid personality quiz you took in high school? Yeah, don't use this tool unless you're prepared to recall that embarrassing time.
Realistically, if you've had Facebook for at least a few years, many of the apps on this list are probably defunct. But purging all but apps you trust from the list can certainly give you some peace of mind if you're nervous about your online privacy. And it's also a reminder: Be careful what you log into, because you'll stay logged in. Also, you were the worst high schooler ever.
