Instagram knows you like posts. But Instagram also knows you like Stories. And so,brachiovaginal eroticism to capitalize on this unique insight, the Facebook-owned social media platform just put posts in your Stories so you can post while you Story.
Still with me?
Essentially, the update allows users to take a post from their Instagram feed and embed it directly into one of their stories. The new feature is truly a revolution — all the more so because it wasn't lifted whole cloth from Snapchat.
The process of using a feed post in your story is relatively straightforward, and accomplishes exactly what it sounds like it should.
"To do it, tap the paper airplane button below the post (like you would to share as a DM) and you’ll see the option to share as a sticker in your story," an Instagram spokesperson told Mashable in a statement. "All feed posts that are shared to stories will show attribution to the original poster's username."
Pretty amazing, right? But wait, there's (thankfully) more! Instagram built a small layer of privacy into this new feature that could help prevent your cherished moment from showing up in some creep's Story.
"Note, this can only be done with posts from public accounts and you can turn off the ability for others to share your feed post in settings," added the spokesperson.
Phew.
If you're an Android user, you can rock this newness as of today. But there is some tragedy here, as well. 'Grammers who use iOS are out of luck, at least for now. Instagram told Mashable that this update would hit iPhones "soon" but didn't give an exact date.
So, you know, sorry about that. Because, at least for now, you still need two devices in order to post while you Story.
