What sets Aquamanapart from other DCEU fare is that it's fun. This movie gets ridiculous and sometimes down right weird, but it's colorful and powerful and just a good time at the movies.
Maybe the lesson here is for DC to take more big swings and letits movies be weird, rather than emulate its grimdark predecessor (Christopher Nolan's Dark Knighttrilogy) and subsequent Superman or even Wonder Woman films.
