Zayn Malik does not exit gracefully.
The Italian XXX movie Lezioni Private (2011)former One Direction member with the voice of an angel caused drama when he left the band and ending his engagement to Little Mix's Perrie Edwards didn't go so smoothly either. With a new track and Little Mix's book, Our World, coming out, the British singer is absolutely spilling the tea.
SEE ALSO: Zayn Malik is totally psyched he can sing about sex after leaving One Direction"This is a shout out to my ex / Heard he in love with some other chick.Yeah yeah that hurt me I'll admit," Edwards sings on the track. "Forget that boy I'm over it / I hope she gettin' better sex / Hope she ain't fakin' it like I did, babe / Took four long years to call it quits."
The song, which is about coming back from a messy breakup stronger, also seems to reference the portrait of Edwards that Malik had tattooed on his arm in the bridge.
To add fuel to the fire, according to a leaked excerpt from Our Worldpublished by Sugarscape, Malik dumped her over over text the night Little Mix's single, "Black Magic," went to #1 on the charts.
It was horrible, the worst time in my life. A four-year relationship, two year engagement ended by a simple text message. Just like that. Even though things in my career were going really well, it was incredibly difficult for me.
If that is, in fact, a real "leaked" excerpt, the timing is certainly curious considering the single's release. Malik has previously denied those rumors.
"If you could word it exactly this way, I'd be very appreciative. I have more respect for Perrie than to end anything over text message. I love her a lot, and I always will, and I would never end our relationship over four years like that," Malik told Fader. "She knows that, I know that, and the public should know that as well. I don't want to explain why or what I did, I just want the public to know I didn't do that."
Our Worldis out Oct. 20 and Malik's autobiography, Zayn, will be out Nov. 1, so we'll just have sit back and wait for more drama.
