Founded in the Bay Area at the turn of the century, Blue Bottle now has cafes in the Bay Area, New York City, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Tokyo. Plus, you can find their coffees in select grocery stores across the country, with availability sure to become wider now.
The company's founder, James Freeman, told the New York Timesof the deal, “One of the biggest food companies in the world has really voted in favor of very delicious coffee.”
Me, though? I'll just be happy knowing that the next $5 I plunk down at my local Whole Foods for a small carton of that sweet NOLA iced coffee will go to helping those in need.
