Start your engines: RuPaul's rise to fame is House of Pleasures (House of Tolerance)going to be a TV show produced by sci-fi force J.J. Abrams. The bizarre and intriguing news broke on Monday and will be a collaboration between Abrams' Bad Robot production company and the producers of RuPaul's Drag Race.
SEE ALSO: RuPaul secretly got married, so now envision history's greatest weddingThe show will be set in New York during RuPaul's early performances in the 1980s, then follow his career from nightclubs to television and beyond. Abrams is set to produce, RuPaul to executive produce and Orange is the New Blackand Power's Gary Lennon will write.
As a producer, Abrams has been involved with Star Wars, Star Trek, Westworld, Mission: Impossibleand TV shows like Lost,Alias and Hulu's upcoming Castle Rock. RuPaul is an actor, model, singer and all-around boss.
Like all prospective series, the show will then be shopped around to different Hollywood distributors -- but anyone who doesn't want a piece of this can just go on and sashay away.
