Siblings always fight,Tramas Ardientes S01 E09 but on Game of Thronesis a tadmore complicated. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime, is well aware of fans' burning questions, and he too is unsure about Cersei's pregnancy and whether his character will kill his sister/lover.
"It makes sense," he said in a new interview with InStyle. "He killed the Mad King and now he’s killing the Mad Queen." A Mad Queen who's pregnant -- well, who claims to be pregnant."
It’d be like the Red Wedding 2," Coster-Waldau said, referencing the massacre that began with the stabbing of a pregnant Talisa Stark (Oona Chaplin). "That would be really horrible. I hope he wouldn’t."
SEE ALSO: You probably missed this subtle clue about Cersei's betrayal in the 'Game of Thrones' finaleFans continue to believe that Jaime will ultimately kill Cersei, because of the growing political divide between them and the prophecy that she will be murdered by a valonqar.
Is Cersei going to kill everyone after they defeat the wights? (She is, actually. She told us the plan). Is she lying about her pregnancy to manipulate Jaime?
"That’s what I thought," Coster-Waldau elaborated in the interview. "I mean, I still think she is. But I don’t know how. I’m not sure anymore."
Sounds like he's as confused as Jaime -- and the rest of us.
"It might be that she was just playing all of us," he added. "When we did it, I definitely believed her. And that, I guess, is what’s important. Jaime believed her."
But by the Season 7 finale, Jaime was done believing, and he said as much. When Cersei threatens to have the Mountain kill him then and there, Jaime walks out of the room nonchalantly.
"When he says, 'I don’t believe you,' that’s the last thing he says, I think that means, I really don’t believe you," Coster-Waldau said. "I don’t believe in you and me. But they’re always going to be connected."
And whether this ends in blood or tears (or both!), we're with them.
