LONDON -- American actress and sex video kowapparent British politics enthusiast Lindsay Lohan was a vocal supporter of the Remain camp during the UK's EU referendum in June.
She made her views known in a series of tweets that have since been deleted, but not before her opining captured the attention -- and the ire -- of the English village of Kettering.

Um, sorry, but #LINDSAY how could you not know of Kettering, home to world's most unimaginative breakfast cereal?
But that's neither here nor there. Calling the tweet "fierce and offensive," the Northamptonshire town's MP Philip Hollobone, a Leave campaigner, invited the Parent Trapstarlet to turn on the town's Christmas lights to "redeem" her reputation.
In response, Lohan tweeted this:

However, the BBC reports that a spokesman for Kettering Borough Council said the authority had attempted to reach the actress' management to verify her attendance, but never received confirmation. He went on to say, "They have not requested any detailed information about tonight's event so we have naturally come to the conclusion that she will not be coming."
Lohan took to Twitter to squash any remaining hopes that she might swing by in this video featuring the Snapchat flower crown filter, because why not:

In the clip, Lohan apologizes for not being able to make it, saying her busy schedule wouldn't allow her to attend.
MP Hollobone has expressed disappointment. The BBC quotes him as saying, "I think that when you're an international celebrity who says you're going to do something then people expect you to do it.
"I think most of us thought that she wouldn't actually come but I think there was a little bit of all of us that hoped she would."
No amount of Snapchat filters can make this better, Lindsay.
